
DOCTOR McKINNEY-EVANS
D’Ellia Salone Mckinney-Evans, OD is a native of Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Jackson, MS and graduated from Forest Hill High School. Dr. Mckinney-Evans graduated cume laude and received her Bachelor’s Degree with academic scholarships from The University of Mississippi.
She obtained her Doctor of Optometry Degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Since then, she has been enjoying practicing optometry for more than 20 years.
Dr. Mckinney-Evans first practiced in a rural setting,doing general optometry, and being a nursing home consultant in Tuskegee, AL for nine years. Having hospital privileges, she took care of veterans in the optometry clinics at the VA Hospitals in Montgomery and Tuskegee, AL.
She continued her post graduate education and received her certification in Photorefractive Laser Surgery from the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners at The Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. She performed skillful Lasek surgery at TLC in Tulsa, OK. While in Tulsa, OK she also practiced general optometry, refractive surgery consultation, and post-op care for three years.
Over the last ten years, Dr. McKinney-Evans has practiced as an associate optometrist for Professional Eye Care, and as both an independent and contract optometrist, in several locations next to Walmart, EyeMart, Sears Optical, and Lenscrafters in Jackson and the surrounding metro area including Canton, Clinton, Magee, Ridgeland, and Flowood, MS.
Dr. Mckinney-Evans is known to be personable, thorough, conscientious, dedicated, and passionate about eye care with her patients. She fosters a kind, friendly and caring environment that leads our eye care team of professionals at Odom’s Eye Care to give that personal touch to our patients and customers.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mckinney-Evans is a memeber of Anderson United Methodist Church. She continues to fall in love with her husband, Bobby M. Evans. She enjoys traveling, walking, running, and learning to dance with him. She looks forward to going to the social events of his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi. She is the proud mother of, Jessica and Jonathan Mckinney. She is also very happy to be the second mother to Bobby’s grandson, Jo’Won Evans.
